New topics announced for 2022 show

New topics announced for 2022 show
We’re excited to announce the topics featuring at Low Carbon Agriculture in 2022, and we speak to show organiser, David Jacobmeyer, about some of the new seminars and discussion panels in the line-up. What’s new for the 2022 show? For the 2022 show we have introduced a new take on the Biomass session, so it’s not strictly ‘new’ but this session will be covering both energy crops and woody biomass, which is certainly an interesting area of growth for British farming. Renewable Heating is a new session, and this will focus on the ways to decarbonise heating within agricultural and rural communities, including how the future will look, the different decarbonisation options available now, support available and resultant opportunities. A new Energy Networks session will look at how the networks are adapting to support the increase in renewables necessary to achieve a net zero society. Energy Management will focus on ways to manage energy being generated and used more effectively, legislation to be aware of and impact on carbon footprint. We have an exciting new panel debate on Decarbonising Welsh Agriculture, featuring key figures from the agricultural, environmental and renewable energy sectors, who will discuss the importance of reaching this goal, as well as the steps and challenges involved. We have had sessions on carbon before, but we are introducing a dedicated seminar to Carbon Farming, which will look at carbon footprinting and sequestration opportunities for farmers. An exciting and totally new session we have in 2022 is Sustainable Architecture. This is being chaired by RIBA and RIAS accredited sustainable architect Michael Collins, looking at what makes a sustainable building, the modern construction methods and natural building materials available, as well as providing guidance on the associated planning application process.

The panel debate on achieving Net Zero in agriculture, featuring key figures from across the sector, will also return by popular demand.
