Colin Snape
Prof. Colin Snape FRSE is a Professor of Chemical Technology and has been involved in fuel science and technology for over 40 years and has 380 peer reviewed publications (Google H index, 81) and has successfully supervised over 60 PhDs. He has led many UK Research Council, UK Government, EU and Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) including directing the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in CCS and Cleaner Fossil Energy. As well as adsorbents for CO2 capture, his current research encompasses shale gas resource estimation, biochar and hydrothermal carbonisation for bio-waste utilisation. He currently leads the £4.5M Biochar Demonstrator project funded by the UK Research Councils Greenhouse Gas Removal programme. Honours include winning the Henry H. Storch Award in 2006 from the American Chemical Society and being an Honorary Chair Professor at Shandong University.
