Gesa Reiss is an Innovation Fellow in Smart Agri-Systems at the University of Leeds. Gesa has worked with a vast number of agri-food and renewable energy businesses and has a track record in developing new industry/academic collaborations by articulating industrial benefits and applications of research. Her interests are in systems integration to achieve economically viable circular bio-economies at farm level. Gesa leads on the University’s activities involving EntoExplore, the insect farm at the National Pig Centre.

About this session:

DELIVER explores the techno-economic feasibility and policy landscape of integrating on-farm renewable energy and modular waste management technologies into a novel circular SMART system that maximises the valorisation of livestock waste and reduces the carbon footprint of production. Uniquely, DELIVER will focus on integrating insect farming with pig and poultry production.
