Pyrolysis & Biochar  - Extracting value from Agri food waste streams

Thursday, 7 March at 11:10.

About this session:

Biochar has long been recognised as a sustainable and practical method of carbon capture and storage.

This session will look at a case study from a large UK onion grower/producer which revealed a large quantity of onion waste in the form of top & tails, peelings, some whole bulbs & skin.

The team embarked on a IUK feasibility trial to evaluate extracting value from the onion waste stream through pyrolysis, producing biochar, endorsed by field base plant trials.
