Laura Beaumont

Head of Projects, BOFIN

Laura Is Head of Projects at BOFIN (British On-Farm Innovation Network). Laura holds a Prince 2 qualification and has several years’ experience in project and event management across different sectors, as well as a lifelong love of farming. At BOFIN Laura leads all aspects of project management from proposal development and planning to logistics and reporting. Laura works closely with BOFIN’s farmer network to support them through the delivery of their on-farm trials. Based in Herefordshire she combines her day job with work on her family’s mixed farm, proving she can master timelines and tractors with equal finesse.

Laura grew up on a 68ha farm in North Herefordshire and started working for her father and grandfather at the age of 13 (including a very small chicken/turkey business at the age of 10). This involved anything from replacing the piston seals of a Case 1594 to combining in the summer. She then moved away to university to study History and in her spare time she worked for a greengrocer in the famous Swansea Market. Following two seeding seasons and three harvests in Australia she started down the road of a career in project and event management. I have managed projects for local authorities, med comms agencies and architecture firms. However, finally managed to merge both of my passions farming and project management joining the BOFIN team in January 2024. Alongside her role at BOFIN she continues to work on the family farm in her spare time and manage environmental schemes with her own Lea Farm Project plan. Her years of experience on farms has made her a practically minded person that allows her to pragmatically plan and develop workable processes which benefits her role as Head of projects. Laura’s role at BOFIN allows her to support farmers who undertake on-farm trials and that are vital to the development of sustainable practises and technologies in the UK. With experience on farm, she understand the limitations and challenges farmers feel in this current climate and understands their need for productivity whilst also protecting their environment and their home.
