ENERGY NOW

The agricultural and rural communities continue to be one of the biggest investors in low carbon energy solutions, due to the resources at their disposal, the need to diversify incomes, typically high energy costs and their desire to help address climate change.

Now in its 15th year, the Energy Now zone showcases the latest renewable & low carbon energy opportunities and technologies available to farmers and landowners, together with best practices in energy generation and management.

A large exhibition of suppliers is combined with a 2-day, multi-streamed conference, in which key industry figures provide insight and practical guidance on a variety of topics, including:

ENVIRONMENTAL BUSINESS 

Launched at the 2021 event, the Environmental Business zone will focus on environmental land management and the agricultural and rural communities’ contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs).

In 2019 the NFU announced its’ ambition to achieve Net Zero for agriculture by 2040, to aid with government’s commitment to achieving the same by 2050, pointing to agriculture as both an emissions source and a sink.

In addition, the UK’s new Agriculture Bill will see farmers move away from the CAP regulations to a new system of environmental land management contracts, detailing the terms and conditions under which farmers and land managers will receive funding.

The Environmental Business zone will examine the steps needed to achieve Net Zero, provide advice on the ways to comply with policy, guidance on effective carbon & environmental land management, plus outline the benefits and examine the challenges facing agricultural and rural businesses.

LOW EMISSION VEHICLES ZONE

Returning for its 7th year, the Low Emission Vehicles zone will demonstrate the low carbon transport and machinery options currently available, together with related opportunities.

With government set to ban the sale of new petrol, diesel vehicles by 2030, transport and machinery options are due to change dramatically in the coming years.

This part of the show will contain some of the latest machinery & vehicles on the market. The associated opportunities will be discussed at length as part of the conference programme, with topics including:
